the makings of a tea party....

to celebrate their grandmother's 80th birthday,
my kids and their cousins decided to host a high tea.

after being supplied with all the ingredients, decorations and fine china....
they took over and started working together.

there was a long list of things to do
they divided up the tasks and went at it.

there were decorative paper spheres to hang....

and bouquets of gorgeous flowers to be cut and arranged....

there were organic raspberries to be filled with semi-sweet chocolate
and paired with blackberries...

who is going to wash and dry all teacups, saucers, teapots and silverware ?

there were fruit cups to be made...

and yummy home baked scones to be pulled from the oven to cool....

don't forget the lemon cream filling for the tarts!!!

also, after the table was set, the name place holders still had to be printed...

the list went on and on... but eventually, every detail was finally taken care of.

the entire table turned out so beautiful...

then, all that was needed... was for the guest of honor to arrive.
so while they patiently waited, dressed in their best high tea attire,
 they smiled for my camera....

come on grandma.... we're hungry !!!

  1. These photos have inspired me a lot to host DIY party on my daughter’s 10th birthday. She would love to have a DIY outdoor party with her friends and family. I would now find suitable garden themed venues in Los Angeles for this bash.
