basket overflowing

the farm markets stalls were extra bountiful this weekend...
my basket was overflowing.

we were invited over for dinner in sidney, bc...
a little seaside town very close to the ferry terminal.
on the way there, we pass by several farms, farm stands,
fields of pumpkins, sunflowers, corn
 and best of all...
michell's, my favourite farmers produce market

i was hankering for some pears...
but came out with everything but.

i couldn't leave without some corn, peaches and cream and super-sweet yellows,
a head of romaine and purple cauliflower.

on top of these, i  also picked up some fuzzy peaches, tomatoes, and potatoes.

oh.. and some free range extra large brown eggs and some yummy brioche buns.

the farm produce were so fresh and gorgeous,
i would have bought even more,
but i only had a twenty in my pocket.

we are so fortunate to live so close to farmers who
grow and sell such beautiful, bountiful food.

thank you, thank you, thank you !!!
