almost three hundred bulbs were planted last fall
and all of them have gloriously popped open over the weekend.
all are under surveillance....
because we have three resident deers
in the neighbourhood!!!
harlow,
while soaking up the warmth of the sun
and enjoying the cushiony, freshly cut lawn,
is on daily deer patrol.
it's a tough job, but someone has to do it!!!
in return for all his hard work,
harlow has been getting extra grooming...
he really does enjoy all the brushing.
did you know that dog hair in your garden beds
makes for excellent deer repellent?

Beautiful flowers Erica. And that deer, how awesome! I hope Harlow was doing his job and keeping him away from your flowers :)
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your weekend.
thanks Kim... and yes, Harlow is excelling in his current position!!
DeleteYour yard is gorgeous Erica, I love all your flowers.
ReplyDeleteI wish the deer around here would stay away from dog hair, but they just don't seem to care.
Have a great week.
i think it is also because our yard is quite enclosed... if only my kids keep that gate closed?!?!?
Deletegosh, 300?? that is quite the planting. We have some coming up, I'd love tulips but the rabbits eat them to stumps and makes me sad. However we have daffodils out and later lilies will be here! Your garden is gorgeous and I loved seeing it through your eyes.
ReplyDeletei know... crazy huh... the tulips came in bags of 50, so i bought 2 for the front yard and the rest for the back. I bought extra just in case the deer got hungry!!! Our daffs are finished and but the irises are getting tall and erect and ready to pop.
DeleteYes, it does :0) we use it also for our cats that seem to visit quite often :0) your tulips are just divine!!! :0) mari
ReplyDeletethanks Mari!!!
Delete300 tulip bulbs!! Wow, no wonder it looks incredible, definitely well worth the effort, fingers crossed the deer don't get them!
ReplyDeleteWow! That is a lot of bulbs! Beautiful :-)
