teacher of slow

ian's mom is visiting from nova scotia,

here to get a respite from all the snow.

yesterday, even though the darkest of rain clouds loomed over us,

we spent a couple of hours exploring the beach.

she is 81 years young

and so so so much fun to be with !!!

talk about learning to slow things down and really looking at what is around you...

she is a wonderful teacher of S L O W.

we must have turned over at least a thousand shiny pebbles

 and sat on every sit-able log 

have i mentioned that she is a birder???

she has mastered recognizing them by their bird calls,

and was quick to point out the pileated woodpecker on our tulipy path.

 it was a wonderful slow afternoon at the beach

but we got cold and hungry,

so we hustled to the nearest coffee house for some treats.

 oh boy...can she hustle!!!
