it's been a pretty emotional week around here...
my great aunt passed away on friday, she was 86 years young.
my mom and brother came to town, bearing gifts of yummy moon cakes.
even better, my mom also brought and shared
lots of childhood memories of her and her aunt !!
after saturday breakfast...
we took them for a little hike.
my mom came prepared with her hiking shoes
(did i mention she was 81???)
it was a super quick visit
(my brother had to get back to work)
oh...but it was so nice to see them.
this morning, i feel the exhaustion going through my body.
emotional roller coaster rides are not my thing!!!
thank goodness it's a long weekend.

I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. It sounds like she will be greatly mixed. May her memory be a blessing.
ReplyDeleteYour mom hikes at 81? That is wonderful!
Thank you so much for your kind words.
DeleteI am so sorry Erica that your aunt passed away. I don't care how old someone is, the passing of a life is hard!
ReplyDeleteYour mom is beautiful and I hope when I am 81 I have the energy to still hike.
I hope you get some rest, mentally and physically Erica.
Much love.
Thanks Tracey...It's amazing how emotions can tire a person out. Yes...my mom has always been strong and full of energy and seems to be holding steady at 81.
DeleteOh Erica, I'm so sorry!! I'll be praying for you and your family while you remember fondly of a life well lived. Take care!!

DeleteSo sorry for your loss. I'm happy you were able to spend this sad time with your family. Hurray for your mom, she looks ready to conquer those trails. I hope I'm still that light on my feet at that age.
ReplyDeleteHope you are getting much deserved rest this week.
Thanks Yanic...I'm feeling much better already. You are so right...these sad times are when being surrounded by family is so important.
