when we go on our daily walking tours
i am always falling behind everyone.
there is so much to see (even walking isn't slow enough to capture it all...)
i'm always stopping, admiring how parisiennes make such an impact
by simplifying the details.
then i realize that my lead has gone too far ahead,
i shout, 'wait...wait for me!!'
as i snap another picture of something to study later.
tomorrow marks the end of our third week in paris (only 10 more days till home...)
yet i can't get enough of this city (so far, i have taken close to 4000 pictures).
my children are starting to miss their friends and private bedrooms and have been perusing the souvenir stalls for gifts to bring back.
meanwhile, ian and i keep finding more flavours of cheese, the quaintest little boulangeries selling warm, fresh baguettes and croissants, palaces and cathedrals with free admission and violin concerts.
oh...but we all miss our dear harlow!!!

Beautiful, beautiful pictures. Paris is truly a gorgeous city, even in the small details.
ReplyDeleteyou are soooo right....and the detailing is everywhere!!!
DeleteYou are making me want to take a trip to Paris :) I can't imagine how wonderful this trip must have been. Enjoy the last 10 days.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think i would enjoy this at all (i'm not too fond of very large cities)...but Paris proved me wrong. You would love this place- every nook and cranny of it.
DeleteLovely! That's me, too, the laggard, taking pictures and looking at little details. A month in Paris sounds amazing!!! Thank you for the gorgeous postcard of BC! I got it right before I left for vacation and I just got back, so I haven't had a chance to pop in here to see your lovely blog before.
